FireWorks trainers have the professionalism and wealth of industry experience to deliver first class tuition in fire twirling to anyone; from the curious beginner, to hardcore circus devotees. Our trainers live and breathe their profession; all with extensive teaching experience including Circus Oz, Melbourne University, CAE, Victorian Arts Centre, secondary schools, primary schools and regional festivals.

Beginners short courses in Fire Twirling

Term 2 begins 15th of March 2012

Option 1- Short Course

Beginners short courses run for 6 weeks and include 6 x 2 hour classes. They’re designed for beginners and those with just a little experience. Our trainers teach you how to fire twirl with various types of equipment including Fire Staff and Fire Poi. Short course students get a bonus final session/graduation with live fire. All equipment, fuel, safety gear and supervision are included for what is a complete fire education.

Option 2- Casual Card

A casual card allows you to drop in for 3 x 2 hour classes when it suits you. If you don't want to commit to a full course or have other commitments, the casual card is good to get taste for fire twirling. Casual Cards are valid only for the short course they are purchased in and don’t include a fire graduation session. Gift certificates are also available.

Located at our studio in Albert Park, Melbourne, classes are easy to access via public transport and parking is available if travelling by car. All equipment is supplied throughout the course and equipment of your own can be purchased at any time.

Master Classes in Fire Twirling

Master classes focus on incorporating dance movements into your fire twirling repertoire, along with guidance on technique, twirling transitions and choreography in Poi and Fire Staff. FireWork's principal performers provide artistic direction to the individual, creating a slick and cohesive expression of your style. Master classes are open to graduates of the full term beginners course and are a great way to take your newly acquired skills to the next level. Master classes are held subject to demand and company schedules.

Private Tuition in Fire Poi or Fire Staff

FireWorks Dance Company artists teach private lessons when they’re not training and performing. Private tuition is ideal for those who want one-on-one or small group tuition. Beginners may find a private session less intimidating and thrive with the undivided attention that our trainers can provide. Professionals are also welcome to expand their skills, choreography and artistic direction. You can tailor what you learn in a variety of disciplines and specifically to what you want. Circus Classes for Kids

Run to coincide with the school calendar, Kids Circus workshops are held during school terms on Saturday mornings. Kids Circus workshops provide an ongoing, extra tertiary activity that focus's on fitness, team work, safe play and most importantly...FUN!

Our trainers cover various types of circus skills and equipment with all equipment supplied and sessions supervised for what is a complete junior circus education.

A casual card allows you to drop in for 5 x 2 hour classes when it suits you. If you don't want to commit to a full term or have other commitments, the casual card is good to get a taste for the circus. Casual Cards are valid only for the term they are purchased in. Circus classes, Belly dancing classes and drumming workshops are great way for school students to develop their self esteem, fitness, co-ordination, motor skills and team work capabilities.
